Örebrospexet

About the project

Örebrospexet is a student theater association at Örebro University that produces a major show each year. I have worked with them for several seasons as sound manager and trainer for their technical team.

My role

• Sound designer for the production, responsible for sound effects and music
• FOH engineer during performances
• Trainer for the association’s new sound technicians

The work

Spex productions are unique in combining theater, music, and comedy. From a sound perspective, this means:

• Wireless headset microphones for all actors
• Integration of pre-recorded sound effects with live music
• Quick scene changes requiring flexible sound solutions

Training efforts

An important part of my work has been training the next generation of sound technicians. Through hands-on workshops and mentorship, I have helped students develop their skills in:

• Basic sound engineering
• Mixer operation (digital and analog)
• Wireless systems and troubleshooting

Results

The productions have played to sold-out audiences, and the association now has a competent team that can run sound production independently.
